Community Classes

  • Senior Connects program at the Center for Accessible Technology: A free program providing hands-on training to seniors on using technology, including computers, wireless devices, smartphones and tablets; offers an iPad lending program. http://www.cforat.org/seniors. 510 841-3224; info@cforat.org
  • Community Living Campaign (in San Francisco): Through the City’s SF Connected program, Community Living Campaign works together with the Department of Aging and Adult Services and other community agencies to close the digital divide, ensuring that seniors and people with disabilities don’t get left behind. http://sfcommunityliving.org/computertraining.html
  • Piedmont Adult School: Offers "Computer for Older Adults," This course is for older adults (and others) who have no experience with computers and is taught in the PC environment. We will learn to use email and Internet. We will practice word processing and talk about basic vocabulary. Public Libraries

  • Berkeley Public Library: Drop-in beginner classes held in the Electronic Classroom, third floor, Central Library: Mondays 6pm, Thursdays 10am; call 510-981-6148 for information. Also offers a laptop/ipad lending program
