Task force submits recommendations on new retirement benefits for future UC employees- feedback requested

January 15, 2016

UC is developing new retirement benefits for future employees (retirement benefits for current employees and retirees are not affected) as a result of the 2015 budget agreement with state leaders.  Last summer, President Napolitano convened a task force to recommend options for the new retirement benefits, which has presented her with its recommendations.

The recommendations have been posted on the UCOP website here: http://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/2016-retirement-benefits/rotf-report.pdf.

A press release regarding the release of the recommendations can be found here: http://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/2016/01/task-force-submits-recommendations-on-new-retirement-benefits-for-future-uc-employees-final-decisions-expected-from-uc-regents-in-march-following-input-from-uc-community.html

President Napolitano wants feedback ...on the recommendations from the UC community to help inform the proposal she is expected to bring to the UC Board of Regents March 23-24.   The feedback form can be found here: http://ucnet.universityofcalifornia.edu/compensation-and-benefits/2016-retirement-benefits/comments.html

Two webinars will be held in February

Additionally, President Napolitano asked task force members to discuss possible options with colleagues and constituent groups throughout the university, and to use feedback from those discussions to inform their deliberations.
