Departmental Emeriti Representatives

Departmental Emeriti Representatives play a key role in fostering communication on important issues between retired faculty, departments, and the Office of Faculty Equity and Welfare.

Emeriti Representatives:

  • Keep their department informed about upcoming events or specific topics of interest to retired faculty (e.g., healthcare benefits).

  • Meet regularly with department chairs or deans to learn about concerns or suggestions late-career faculty or emeriti may have expressed (e.g., issues about RASC).

  • Bring to their department’s attention how emeriti continue to contribute to teaching, learning, and community service.

  • Provide updates and insights at the Emeriti Representative meeting (twice a year in the Fall and Spring semester).

The Retirement Center supports Emeriti Representatives through:

  • E-Rep Bulletin published twice in the Fall and Spring presents important information and updates in one place.

  • Access to Retirement Center staff for questions and referrals.
