Turn Your Home into an Ally in Your Aging Experience

Offered at no cost to retirees (regularly $90/person) due to a generous grant from the UCB Chancellor's Partnership Fund in support of the Berkeley Home Match Program.

Susi Stadler is a licensed architect in California. Her firm, Stadler Architecture, is a national leader in age-friendly design. The Aging 360 workshop was developed by Susi and members of At Home With Growing Older to help non-architects to get their homes age-ready.

This workshop is a series of three zoom sessions that build on each other, so participants are asked to participate in all three sessions.

This workshop focused on preparing attendees to think about their transferable skills and how they apply to different professional pursuits and volunteering. It focused on answering the following questions about planning for work or volunteering in retirement:

  • What are transferable skills?
  • How do you identify your transferable skills?
  • How do you analyze Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) to determine next best steps?
  • How does knowing your transferable skills boost your confidence and employment marketability?

Estate and Advance Care Planning

Description:

Understand who needs estate planning assistance, the documents included and their purpose as well as how to make certain your healthcare choices are communicated to your loved ones and healthcare professionals.  A review of the Advanced Health Care Directive, Power of Attorney, Trust, Revocable Living Trusts, Last Testament and Will, Estate Taxes and Estate Administration will be covered.
