Creating an Age-Friendly Berkeley - Take the Survey

February 26, 2018

The population of older adults in Berkeley will double in the next decade. This survey is a collaboration between the City of Berkeley, Lifelong Medical Care, The Center for Independent Living, and Ashby Village with the goal to make Berkeley a place where older adults can stay and thrive. If you are age 50 or older and live in Berkeley, please consider taking the survey which will be open between March 1 and April 10. Results of the survey will be discussed at a public forum this spring, date to be announced.

Berkeley is part of the World Health Organization’s (WHO) international network of Age-Friendly Cities and Communities. This survey, with modifications for each city, is being used nationally by cities developing Age-Friendly plans. Findings from the survey will be used to develop Berkeley’s Age-Friendly plan, which will be submitted to WHO and made available to the public in November 2018.
