Volunteers Needed for Technology Workshops

November 8, 2018

Do you enjoy using and learning about technology?  Would you like to help others?  The UCB Retirement Center and Ashby Village co-sponsor monthly workshops on technology topics, and volunteers are needed to help plan and facilitate.

Technology workshops are open to members of either UCBRC or Ashby Village, and formats include both smaller hands-on workshops and information panels for larger groups. Topics are selected by the UCBRC and Ashby Village volunteers who offer the workshops - and you could be one of those volunteers! Topics covered to date - or planned for the next few months - include:  iPad Basics, dictation on smartphones, voice activated devices, options for home telephones, Gmail, television (streaming, Roku, etc.), home security, and medical alert technology.

Most workshops are held at Ashby Village (1821 Catalina Ave., Berkeley 94707) on the third Tuesday of every month from 10:30 am - 12 noon.  If you are interested in learning more about volunteering, email Pat Hom phom@berkeley.edu or Maryl Gearhart marylgear@mac.com.
