Transition into and from later career and retirement can go more smoothly when approached with intention and preparation—especially in cultivating connections and purpose beyond work.
While logistics of finances, medical care and home maintenance are necessarily foregrounded, the emotional and social aspects of preparing for the transition to retirement are equally important, but often less explored.
Join us in late Fall '25 and Spring '26 for a series of online workshops designed to fill this gap!
For the LIFT Initiative the Retirement Center collaborates with colleagues from People & Culture's NOW Encore Series (in the Fall), AROHE's six-workshops series on Charting The Journey to a Fulfilling Retirement (in the Spring) and the Cal Women's Network.
After each workshop, the Center will host facilitated small-group conversations -- "opportunity circles" -- to reflect on the content and gain a better understanding of opportunities and challenges of later-career transitions. These circles will be offered in partnership with the Cal Women's Network.
Participants are invited to "mix and match" workshop offerings based on their interest and schedule.
