UCSF Research Study: Facilitating End-of-Life Care Discussion with Chinese American Older Adults and their Adult Children

Dear friends, colleagues, and potential participants,

This is a research study about facilitating end-of-life care discussion with Chinese American older adults. The researcher, Han-Lin Chi, a PhD candidate, from the UCSF School of Nursing is currently searching for potential participants who would be interested in sharing their opinions about facilitating end-of-life care discussion with this population.

The study will involve 1-2 interviews, each lasting approximately 60-90 minutes. The researcher will meet with you at a mutually convenient time and place, such as your home, the UCSF library, a meeting room at a Chinese Community Center, or another place you suggest. Each participant will receive one $10 gift card (or cash).

Eligible older adult Participants are:
(1) Self-identifying as Chinese or Chinese-American
(2) 55 years old or older
(3) Able to complete the interview in English

OR

Eligible Adult Children Participants are:
(1) Self-identifying as Chinese or Chinese-American
(2) Over 18 years old
(3) Expected to care for their parent whose age is 55 years old or older when needed
(4) Able to complete the interview in English
