
What the event features:
- A keynote speech by author and researcher Amy Yotopoulos on the benefits of volunteering
- Two consecutive panels: the first one by retiree volunteers about why they volunteer and the second one by volunteer managers about how their organization utilizes volunteers, how they train and support volunteers and tips on how find a good volunteering engagement
- Community-based organizations from Alameda and Contra Costa Counties and San Francisco tabling throughout the event
The event has been organized by a committee of retirees from UC Berkeley, University of California Office of the President and the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and with the support from UC Berkeley Retirement Center staff.
What you can expect from attending the event:

- Get tips on how to find the right volunteer experience
- Learn about what volunteer managers look for
- Network with other UC retirees
- Raffle prizes for those who attend in person
