In Memoriam: Professor Emeritus George Strauss passed away on November 27th. In addition to serving on the UC Berkeley faculty for 30 years, Professor Strauss served as director of the Institute for Research on Labor and Employment (IRLE) when it was known as the Institute of Industrial Relations, is a former editor of their journal, Industrial Relations, and was an active member of the IRLE community for over half a century. Call for Nominations

The UC Berkeley Academic Senate is accepting nominations for the Constantine Panunzio Distinguished Emeriti Award, and the Edward R. Dickson Emeriti Professorship. 

The Panunzio Distinguished Emeriti Award is a system-wide award that recognizes outstanding scholarly work or educational service performed since retirement by a UC emeritus in the humanities or social sciences. The award will be made for FY 2020-21. 

The Dickson Emeriti Professorship recognizes individuals having outstanding records of post-retirement contributions in teaching, research, or public or University service. The award will be made for FY 2021-22 and prioritizes activities that benefit the Berkeley campus. Congratulations to Professor Robert E. Bergman (Chemistry) and Professor Hugh Richmond (English) who are the recipients of the Dickson Emeriti Professorship for 2020-21!
