Dr. Robert J. Birgeneau, former UCB Chancellor & currently member of the departments of Physics,
Materials Science & Engineering, and Public Policy.
"The Lincoln Project: Excellence and Access in Public Education." For the past three years, under the auspices of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Prof. Birgeneau and his group have been studying the evolving situation for public higher education in the United States. Their focus has been primarily on public research universities like the UCs. He will discuss the Project’s findings and recommended strategies for moving forward.
