NOMINATIONS FOR 2019 EMERITUS/A OF THE YEAR ARE OPEN:

The UC Berkeley Emeriti Association (UCBEA) is soliciting nominations for the 2019 Emeritus/a of the Year Award. The Emeritus/a of the Year Award Committee considers the accomplishments and contributions of a retired faculty member since retiring; thus, the glories of the active faculty days are NOT considered. The glories of the retired faculty days ARE the primary considerations. The activities of Berkeley’s Emeriti are amazing both on and off campus. Please nominate your colleagues, or self-nominate, for consideration for this award. A current CV, particularly with post-“retirement” activities, and a nomination letter are needed. These nominations are due February 25, 2019. A call for nominations also goes out to Departments and through the Academic Senate. The awardee is recognized at a Campus reception in Fall 2019, at which the awardee is invited to present a talk sponsored by the Emeriti Association. Submit the nomination, or the intention to nominate, to the UCBEA Awards Committee, kanecm@berkeley.edu.
